The artist portrays one’s journey on the path of spiritual attainment. Since childhood, the artist believed there is more to the world than what we experience every day. The reality we are surrounded by is not the whole truth - it is limited only to what we see, hear and feel. “There is a veil between what we see and what all is actually there in existence,” says the artist about ‘Veil’. “It is my perception of the world that we are witnessing everyday - the ‘reality’ on this side of the veil”.

PROCEED

The path to ascension begins with ‘Proceed’. Only when we become Adam Kadmon, the ‘perfected self’, can we go beyond the Veil, contends the artist. This piece delves into the first step of this journey, which the artist argues, begins with the self. To proceed on the path of righteousness, one must look inward and better oneself.

“One must try to be good

and daily do a good deed.

Manifest this noble idea we should

and for that inwards we must proceed.“

UNVEIL

With ‘Unveil’, the artist unleashes his creativity and imagination to paint a picture of the world beyond our understanding - his version of the true reality. A patchwork of brightly-hued elements - from unicorns to a magic door, to forms representing masculine and feminine energies - adorns this canvas. “We finally see that everything is made up of us, and we are made up of everything”.

MERLIN

This is a meditative piece by the artist, in which he narrates his journey through the pandemic. Once attuned with the Merlin Trinity Healing System, the artist gained perspective on both chaos and form. When they come together, according to the artist, there is balance and supersymmetry in the universe.

VENUS

The Vesica Piscis features prominently in this artwork. It is a mathematical shape formed by the intersection of two equal circles. This iconography also refers to the vagina, the symbol of femininity and divine creation, where everything is born out of. The artwork is also divided into two, like night and day. They are different, but the same simultaneously. 

RASALHAGUE

This is the artist’s depiction of Rasalhague, the brightest star in the constellation of Ophiuchus. The black-and-white work also features concentric rectangles, inspired by the architecture of several temples in South India, Egypt and Mexico. In the ancient days, through these levels, people used to take their ascension forward and attain enlightenment. 

TRITON

This painting offers a glimpse of the artist’s portrayal of Triton, Neptune’s largest moon. Beneath its frozen water-ice crust, is a magical world with a portal through which one can travel. There are a few darker elements to the painting, a black circle, denoting the side of the moon where the light never reaches.

IZAR

An enigmatic star in the cosmos, which can be viewed with the naked eye, is at the centre of this work. In Arabic, Izar also translates to ‘veil’. The artist lifts this veil and offers an intriguing and colourful depiction of what the star could be in his mind’s eye. A prominent triangle appears in the work, outlining a portal that one can use to travel to and fro from this luminary dimension.

WONDERLAND
